“I’m excited that we get to apply AI (artificial intelligence) towards such an interesting problem. By predicting the behavior and telemetry of in-space objects, we will enable existing docking procedures for targets like the ISS and spacecraft to be used for docking with debris,” KMI’s Adam Kall said.
“We're looking at other harbor towns on Lake Superior and if it takes off, maybe working with state parks and campgrounds. Our main mission right now is to see if people want it," said Brandon Frisk, one of the founders of Sauna on Kuuma.
“This recognition can help to attract students and faculty members, as well as funding and collaboration with government agencies and industry partners," said Yu Cai, a Michigan Technological University professor and an expert in applied computing and computational science and engineering.

“Our goal is to help visitors better understand best practices to keep them safe while protecting and preserving the Keweenaw’s wilderness,” explained Brad Barnett, executive director of Visit Keweenaw.
"Getting into these sort of back woods areas, are really beautiful to see. You get to see wildlife, but also lakes and forest and bridges. All kinds of little things that you otherwise wouldn’t know existed,” said John Pepin, deputy public information officer for the DNR.
“This is a monumental victory for the Upper Peninsula,” says state Rep. Greg Markkanen, who represents the 110th District. “Due to this investment, at least 1,240 jobs will be retained at the Escanaba facility."
