“The Sturgis Splash Pad will offer accessible amenities that provide public recreation and capture the community’s character – modern placemaking at its best,” says Michele Wildman, MEDC Senior Vice President of Community Development.

“Schuler’s has been known for its hospitality since we first opened in 1909 and we are thrilled at the transformation that is taking place inside our historic building as we create much needed housing in our community,” Sue Damron says.
A new grocery store opens in downtown Albion, the first independent grocer in 30 years. With a focus on fresh and local products, the store aims to erase the region's food desert.
"During the continued challenges of a health pandemic in 2021, our organization is pleased to see our region continue to prosper with solid economic growth,” says Dan Casey.
“This gift is why organizations like ours exist, so people have a vehicle to do what Myrna Berlet did, to think about the communities where they lived and worked and owned small businesses and loved."
“With the Arts Gallery being right here, it really allows our members to be surrounded by all this creative work made by local artists. I hope some creativity percolates in our members."
The Blue Light is a community-based space, offering free, live music, and spaces for musicians to play and record music. Their next concert is Feb. 2, a benefit for Safe and Sound, Midland’s only child abuse and neglect organization.
The temperatures are cold, which means there’s wintertime fun to be had. Midland's City Forest has a variety of outdoor recreation activities to keep the whole family active outside this season.
