SampleCSI takes First Place at the TCNewTech Pitch Competition
Safety Straw awarded second place and audience choice awards.

What’s happening: SampleCSI, a mobile-and-cloud platform that helps law enforcement capture, label and track crime scene evidence in real time, won the First Place Award in the recent TCNewTech pitch competition held in Traverse City. Each item is bound to authenticated photos (C2PA), GPS/time, and a tamper-evident digital chain of custody, reducing errors and challenges in court. The pitch was presented by Russell Schindler; SampleSCI received an award of $5,000.
The other winner: The $2,000 Second Place Award went to Safety Straw, a product that changes color from yellow to red when exposed to a date rape drug, creating a safer, more confident environment for consumers. The Safety Straw pitch was presented by Jack Rushlow. TCNewTech, a recurring pitch competition, is sponsored by 20Fathoms.
