A Traverse City-based foundation aimed at helping women entrepreneurs celebrated its first anniversary by awarding $375,000 in grants to female-founded businesses in 14 states, including two in Michigan.

“The Byron Pocket Park represents a creative re-use of a long vacant space in the Village,” says MEDC Regional Prosperity Managing Director Paula Holtz.
The month of October has proven to be a fruitful one for the economic development teams of four different rural communities.
“This important funding program will help address mobility gaps and other barriers to underserved areas of the state, particularly for senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and veterans,” says State Transportation Director Bradley C. Wieferich.
“The Hickory Creek Park Pavilion will not just be a static shelter, it will be a gathering place fitted with universally accessible amenities throughout and will help to further activate a beloved community space,” says MEDC Regional Prosperity Managing Director Paula Holtz.
"Through this program, we’ve been able to extend our efforts in protecting our waterways by supporting projects that have made a significant positive impact on our watershed," says Deana Jerdee, Paddle Antrim Executive Director.
The annual Michigan Outdoor Summit in Traverse City brings together a host of players in the diverse outdoors sector. Their goal? To celebrate the outdoors and encourage more Michiganders to appreciate the natural beauty around them.
