Brutal storms have wreaked havoc across Michigan in recent years. Stepping into help in the wake of these disasters is the nonprofit After the Storm. Although fairly new, the organization has helped thousands of families cope financially, logistically and emotionally from the aftermath of weather events.

“City Square Park will create a vibrant gathering space for the community of Fennville where there once was vacancy,” says MEDC Regional Prosperity Managing Director Paula Holtz.
The new DNR Customer Service Center in Newberry is Michigan's first mass timber building constructed with Michigan wood.

A three-year pilot program to teach rail transportation education and research at Michigan Technological University is still rolling along two decades later. The nationally recognized program has attracted more than 1,000 students and continues to grow.
A new park is being planned in Benton Heights in Benton Charter Township in Southwest Michigan, thanks, in part, to a $1 million grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
"Transforming this vacant property into a vibrant mixed-use space will expand community access to essential services as well as creating much needed housing opportunities,” says Rogers City Mayor Scott McLennan.
