What’s happening: Prism Controls is investing $3.8 million to double the size of its 15,000-square-foot agricultural technology facility in Vergennes Township, creating 28 new manufacturing and technology jobs over the next five years.

About the expansion: Driven by rising global demand, the project adds critical production capacity, new machinery, and additional office space. The expansion keeps Prism Controls in Michigan over competing sites in Iowa, Ohio, and Indiana, backed by a $210,000 grant from the Michigan Business Development Program.

Who is involved: Economic development organization The Right Place, Inc. coordinated state and local resources alongside the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and Vergennes Township to secure the company’s regional growth.

What they’re saying: “This expansion will nearly double our production capacity, create new opportunities for our workforce, and enable us to bring more of our innovative agricultural solutions to customers around the world,” said Eric Hansen, president of Prism Controls.

What’s next: The facility will begin construction to expand its footprint at its Lowell-area site, hiring for roles with average wages starting at $22.61 to $36.22 per hour.
