Soda maker leaves big city to establish world headquarters in nearby small town
What’s happening: An industry leader in the home beverage carbonator business has
announced the grand opening celebration for its new global headquarters in Saline. Drinkmate
was founded and located in Ann Arbor since its founding in 2014, where it established itself
through a proprietary home carbonation system that enables customers to carbonate any cold
beverage from the comfort of their homes.
Here’s the scoop: Drinkmate leaves the comfort of its college town roots for nearby Saline, a
rural community of approximately 9,000 residents located 10 miles south of Ann Arbor.
“We are thrilled to call Saline our new home,” says Douglas Wang, CEO of Drinkmate. “This
new space reflects our continued growth and commitment to innovation, and we’re excited to
become an active part of the Saline business community.”
What they make: Drinkmate specializes in home beverage carbonators. The brand’s flagship
product is the OmniFizz and the company is readying the release of its new SparkleUp
machine, the latter of which will be available for a sneak preview during the grand opening
event.
What to expect: The grand opening celebration is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday,
Sept. 26, at the company’s new headquarters. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected at 11:30
a.m. and will include remarks from community leaders, followed by guided tours of the new
facility, interactive product demos, complimentary refreshments, and more.
The event is free and open to the public, although guests are encouraged to RSVP by
contacting kristyn@idrinkproducts.com.
Why it’s important: “We’re excited to celebrate the grand opening of Drinkmate’s new
headquarters,” says Lisa Bozzi, executive director of the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce.
“Drinkmate brings innovative energy and manufacturing jobs to our region, and we’re proud to
support their continued success here in Saline.”
Drinkmate headquarters is located at 1422 Woodland Dr. in Saline.
